Suhr US/Canada Clinic Tour Featuring Guthrie Govan
In July, 2009, Suhr Guitars will embark on a clinic tour of select US and Canada east coast cities featuring the sensational British guitar virtuoso and composer Guthrie Govan. Guthrie is a fast-rising star in the world of all things guitar and here's a chance for those in the east coast who have never seen him live to see Guthrie demonstrate Suhr gear and perform his music to backing tracks and, in some cities, with a live band.
It's one thing to listen to Guthrie's splendid and highly touted debut CD 'Erotic Cakes' or watch his videos on YouTube; it's a whole different thing altogether to see him performing live in person. If you thought his CD and those YT vids were good, wait till you see him live!
Starting off with a 4-day educational workshop at the Raleigh Music Academy in Raleigh, North Carolina on July 15, Guthrie and Ed Yoon, Suhr's Director of Marketing and Sales, will travel up the US east coast to visit select Suhr dealers in key cities and then visit Montreal and Toronto in Canada before finally wrapping up the tour in Chicago on August 1.
Guthrie will demonstrate various Suhr instruments and gear (including the new Guthrie Govan Signature Model and effects pedals) one by one so that you can get a good idea of how each sounds in the hands of a master.
Ed will explain the features of all Suhr gear and field questions in between the demos and Guthrie will also perform a number of tunes from his album to backing tracks and with a full band on certain dates.
This is Guthrie's first appearances on the US/Canada east coast and it's difficult to say when he may return, although we all hope that it's soon on a concert tour with his band! One of the highlights of this tour will be our stop at the Berklee College of Music in Boston on July 25. This date will feature the Jon Finn Band (one of the top instructors at Berklee) backing up Guthrie on performances of Guthrie's music as well as jams on rock, fusion, and jazz standards. So be sure to come out and see a new guitar legend in the making.
The clinic-concerts will be informative, entertaining, and simply mind-blowing as you witness Guthrie's astonishing virtuosity and incredible musicality. And, yes, you will also get to hear stunning sounds of Suhr gear!

Suhr Guitars, Apple Inc. and Guthrie Govan Team Up for Clinics/Seminars in Canada.
Suhr Guitars and renowned artist Guthrie Govan will be teaming up with Apple Inc. to participate in various clinics and seminars from June 28 through July 6 during the Montreal Guitar Show, Cosmo Music superstore in Toronto, the Apple Power Trio event sponsored by Apple, Euphonix and Apogee, and the Montreal Musical Instrument Show that will run concurrently with the famous Montreal Jazz Festival.
Guthrie Govan, a long-time user of Apple's Logic program for both writing and recording as well as live performances, will demo Apple hardware and software along with his arsenal of Suhr guitars at Cosmo Music in Toronto on June 30 and Apple's Power Trio event at the Le Centre Sheraton hotel ballroom on July 2.
